31. Recovery of the heat energy generated during fermentation


At the Tech Transfer Agrifood Fund we are looking for innovation in energy recovery technologies in the form of heat, emitted during the fermentation process.

Beer is fermented in stainless steel tanks (their volume can range from 1,500 to 8,000 Hl) which have cooling jackets, the coolant liquid is usually glycol or ammonia in a closed circuit, the heat collected by the coolant liquid is not used, facilities are used for its cooling that send this heat to the atmosphere.

With this challenge, energy recovery technologies are sought.
