The Tech Transfer Agrifood F.C.R. (TTAF) fund, managed by Clave Capital, has invested in Groots Hydroponics S.L., a foodtech company specialising in vertical farming. A financing round, led by its current partners, will allow the company to accelerate its national expansion with the aim of offering the industry a technology with which to develop smarter and more sustainable agricultural practices.
Through the use of cutting-edge technologies and cultivation methods in controlled environments, the company offers an alternative to the traditional cultivation system that has several advantages: for example, greater production capacity, resource savings or reduction of polluting emissions, as well as raising quality standards in the industry and providing consumers with access to its products all year round, regardless of weather conditions, among other benefits.
With this injection, Tech Transfer Agrifood F.C.R, reaches its 25th investment since its foundation in 2019. This financial injection represents for the vehicle “a strategic step of great relevance” as it is “a significant milestone in the transformation of the production of aromatic herbs, as well as setting a new standard in sustainable agriculture”.
